What Serany thinks about this poem
Meaning
God starts a knock-knock joke and answers the door with possibly nobody, then asks whether that is frightening. Years pass with no reply. Then God turns up to say he was there the whole time, that nobody ever notices he is funny, and that the dead feel sorry for the living because they are out there dancing while everybody up here cries and misses the point.
Who's it for
Someone who was funny and never settled the God question. Right for a service that wants permission to laugh.
