What Serany thinks about this poem
Meaning
A tree lists what it might come back as: a dragon, a tavern owner, an ant, a rocket. Then it explains it will become the pages of a book, and asks you to go and read to the trees.
Who's it for
A child's funeral, or a family who want somewhere hopeful to put the question without naming a religion. It is playful on purpose.

Are you planning a funeral?
A Serany website keeps the whole funeral in one place: the plans and the details, who is coming, flowers and donations, and somewhere for everyone who knew them to leave a memory.
