What Serany thinks about this poem

For a grandmotherGentleModernPeace at lastPlain English

Meaning

An old woman gets ready to die the way she got ready for anything: makes the bed, picks out what she wants to keep, a photograph and a wedding dress and her children's handprints. Her family stand round her and she goes when she is ready.

Who's it for

A grandmother or mother who died at home with her family in the room. Right where the death was peaceful and the family want to say so out loud.
