What Serany thinks about this poem

Meaning

Breathing keeps you alive, it says, but the breathtaking moments are what you live for: the view from the top, dancing until your feet hurt, singing until your throat is raw.

Who's it for

Someone who filled their life rather than lengthened it, and a service meant as a celebration. It never mentions death at all.

Becky Hemsley

If—

This poem is for someone who got on with things, kept their temper, and didn’t make a fuss when life went against them. The sort of person other people steadied themselves against.

Are you planning a funeral?

A Serany website keeps the whole funeral in one place: the plans and the details, who is coming, flowers and donations, and somewhere for everyone who knew them to leave a memory.
