What Serany thinks about this poem

Meaning

She asks not to be put in a churchyard but in leafy ground, with a native tree planted over her. The roots take her up into the tree, and she ends standing tall in the sun.

Who's it for

Someone who wanted a natural burial, or would have if anyone had asked. Right for a gardener, a walker, anyone who'd rather be under a tree than a headstone.

Are you planning a funeral?

A Serany website keeps the whole funeral in one place: the plans and the details, who is coming, flowers and donations, and somewhere for everyone who knew them to leave a memory.
