What Serany thinks about Sara Teasdale

Who they are

Sara Teasdale won the first Pulitzer Prize ever given for poetry, in 1918. She wrote short, plain, musical poems about love and dying, and died in New York in 1933 at forty-eight.

Why we'd read them at a funeral

She has two registers and they are opposites. One of hers tells whoever is leaning over the grave that she will not care; the other says spend everything you have on being alive and never count it.

Our favourite of theirs

Are you planning a funeral?

A Serany website keeps the whole funeral in one place: the plans and the details, who is coming, flowers and donations, and somewhere for everyone who knew them to leave a memory.
